This mix is made up of a few of my favorite tracks from the past three years and is an electro house/breaks mix... To all you people expecting a breaks only mix, SUCK IT UP!! *laugh* This is a speedy 141BPM mix and is just over 45 minutes long. Peace! -Mr Hyde - Late Nights #2
Sun, 18 May 2008 19:59:31 -0600
Well, I promised a new mix and here it is. Late Nights #2 is the second in the series of house mixes to get you dancin' around no matter where you are. I had planned to get this out a week earlier but we had some issues with the first recording so I had to go back to the tables to make things right. This week is 131 BPM and just over 51 minutes long, enjoy! - Late Nights #1

You know, as well as this podcast is going, I really miss playing at more clubs, parties and other venues. Having moved down to Calgary a few years back I really miss the deejays up in Edmonton (Dr Jekyll, you crazy bastard!!!). I'm an Edmonton boy at heart and I just haven't clicked with the scene down here! Anyways, I'll be sending out a series of "Late Nights" mixes for all you house addicts out there (Don't worry, we're not forgetting about breaks). These sets will bring me back to my house roots in the Edmonton scene. You can expect these Late Nights mixes to be filled with one kind of house or another (Or a few different kinds like this one). The first edition in this series is a blend of tech, electro and straight up house... Being that this is focussing on house, we haven't amp'd up the BPM too too much (136 BPM for this one). I don't want to cheat my fans with a short mix, so this 12 track episode comes in at just over an hour. The set starts off nice and slow, but the latter tracks in the mix will knock you on your ass!! Make sure to check out the last track, a team up from my FAVORITE DEEJAY Donald Glaude AND DJ Dan!!! Both of these deejays are amazing and always deliver an awesome show and amazing tracks! Enjoy! Mr Hyde - People Dont Appreciate
Mon, 24 Mar 2008 10:15:33 -0600
I don't think that people read these anyways and it being a long weekend here in Canada, I'm too lazy to put much down on paper. Enjoy the set (62 minutes long) - A mixture of down tempo beats and hard ass breaks and electro house! - Dr Jekyll - Jan Mix

Sun, 27 Jan 2008 12:06:12 -0700
Hey all you Jekyll and Hyde fans out there! Sorry for such a delay in getting out a new mix!! Things have been crazy busy this New Year and we've had a lot of people pulling us in different directions... OK, enough with the excuses! This is another Mr Hyde mix that comes in a little slower then the last few (139BPM). I thought it was time to slow it down a bit and give people a change to breath! Mr Hyde - Mr Hyde - Hard and Short

Thu, 15 Nov 2007 20:22:34 -0700
Seriously, an ACTUAL mix from Dr Jekyll. My plate has been pretty full lately, I apologize for not getting a mix up sooner. Between having my car stolen, and working completely bizarre hours, I've been a little bit behind. But no more! This weeks fare is a little bit more "in your face". With the tempo just shy of the 140 BPM mark, this one should keep you moving for the full 72 minutes. With contributions from Edmonton's DTDR, you should definitely have a listen. With remixed tracks from Krafty Kuts, Rogue Element, Freestylers; it's NuSkool through and through. - Promoting the breaks
Thu, 08 Nov 2007 19:14:03 -0700
So what happens when you take a few Drum n Bass tracks and throw them in with a bunch of breaks tracks and whirl them around at 173 BPM? Well, you get a crazy intense mix called "Promoting the breaks", that's what you get! This is an insane mix that will hit you hard from beginning to end. Those of you that enjoy Drum n Bass will more then enjoy this mix! Oh, and you'll either love the beginning track or hate it. Let me know which one is which. Dr Jekyll will be hitting the podcast with another mix soon, just as soon as he gets a little intro done up for it! Cheers for another episode! Well well well... It turns out that my last breaks mix is a little popular (300+ downloads in a few weeks?). This month has been crazy!!! We've had over 4,500 downloads of our mixes in this month alone!! That's insane!! So in light of the popularity of the "Confused" mix, I thought I would offer up another sick sick breaks mix for your consumption. This one is along the same lines as the last one, so if you enjoyed "Confused" then you'll love Flyin High! Tracks include: Feeling Good feat. Tue, 14 Aug 2007 12:21:07 -0600
Ok, so this was supposed to be posted prior to Shambhala, but I just didn't get around to it (My wife and I ran the Canadian Death Race - www.canadiandeathrace.com the week before Sham, so it was a little tight). This is a nice house mix, mostly progressive, with a little electro thrown in for good measure. We're now up on the iTunes store as well, so our traffic on the podcast has already started to increase (We hit over 60GB downloaded and we're only have way through the month). At this rate we may hit 150GB of downloaded mixes for the month! You guys rock!!! Keep up the downloads and share the tunes! If anyone is interested in CD quality mixes, just email us at book@jekyllandhyde.ca and we'll be happy to hook you up. - Mr Hyde - Damn That's Hot
Fri, 27 Jul 2007 06:48:09 -0600
Well, everyone's gone off traveling (Ok, so by everyone I mean my future wife and child) to Ottawa so I've had some spare time to put together another mix.
Damn That's Hot is full of banging awesome tunes!!! This is probably my favorite mix that I've put together in a while. I've kept the tempo upbeat to keep feet pounding and people smiling. This really is a mix for summer; sitting outside, tunes cranked, dancing around like crazy fools!!!!
This type of music makes me anxious for Shambhala... It can't get here soon enough!!! - Mr Hyde - Stomping and Grooving
Sat, 14 Jul 2007 18:29:28 -0600
Ok, so the summer is in full swing and the temperature here in Calgary is scorching (40C is what my truck measured today!!!). Now I know lots of people aren't going to be down with jumping around at high noon with the sun sweltering down, so sit back, chill out, put a couple pieces of ice in the glass and pour yourself a nice drink. Next, put on Stomping and Grooving to listen to almost a full 80 Minutes of my progressive tunes coming at you. Once the sun has set, I'm sure you'll want to dance around to this fun and light mix!
If you're not into progressive house, there are even a couple electro tracks in there to spice things up a little. A breaks mix will be coming soon, but for some reason, this hot weather just makes me want to spin some nice house beats (Maybe it's too hot for the aggressive breaks that Jekyll and I usually spin).
--Mr Hyde - Mr Hyde - Mr Progressive
Sat, 30 Jun 2007 17:31:55 -0600
For a long time I spun trance. Yes, I'll admit it, I spun a lot of epic, progressive, light fluffy trance! It lasted a surprisingly long time given the fact that my roots in music lie in punk and industrial (Then made the progression into Drum N Bass thanks to John Rolodex). Well, eventually I found myself moving into harder music, which at first mean hard house (NRG, whatever you want to call it now). I was spinning hard house back in the day... 1999 or 2000 or so... Sure there were lots of crap tracks back then, but not as bad as things are today. Anyways, long story short, I found myself progressing into harder and darker sub genres of music, finally ending up with breaks and techno being the two flavors of music I spun most of the time.
Well, today I'm head back to my mid-way-roots. Ok, so this is definitely not an epic trance set! Please help me if I spin more of that!!! *puke* *laugh* Ok, so I don't hate it, but it just isn't my thing. Anyways, this is a progressive house set that dabbles a little more in the fun sounds (Rather then the darker, acid-y stuff I usually play). We'll see how this does on our podcast and downloads... Maybe we'll do another, maybe we'll never do it again! :D
Speaking of the podcast and downloads, you guys are awesome! This month we'll do well over 100GB in downloads... I'm sure we'll do the equivalent to over 2,500 downloads this month!! That's crazy guys!!! - Mr Hyde - Hey Ladies
Tue, 12 Jun 2007 21:41:59 -0600
Ok, so after putting up the number of mixes that I have, I'm starting to run out of good names for mixes. In fact, I'm pretty much running on empty name wise... So here I present to you "Hey Ladies" ... Not really any meaning behind it, just a name I thought I'd throw out there (Although there is some lady screaming in one track).
I've put together some house tracks for your enjoyment. This is a little faster then typical house mixes, coming in at over 138BPM but it should keep you going while you're dancing around, running, working or just listening while you dream about studying for next years university exams ;) - Mr Hyde - Next Up
Thu, 31 May 2007 20:59:25 -0600

Jekyll, myself and DTDR will be spinning at Twilight this June so keep checking back for the dates.
This mix is mostly breaks with a little electro house at the beginning.

Sat, 24 Mar 2007 10:18:34 -0600
It has definitely been a while since we posted a new mix, but here's one for you. This one's encoded at 320kbps for CD quality music and comes in at 103MB so it may take a little longer to downlaod then you'd normally expect. Again, this podcast is for you guys, so let me know if you don't like the increased quality and we can switch back to 128kbps.
This mix should keep you rocking and grooving for 45 minutes and is a mixture of electronic music as it normally is. - Mr Hyde - Rock Till You Drop
Wed, 28 Feb 2007 18:45:04 -0700
Ok, so I know we've been a little slack lately in getting mixes up there! Life's busy and parties are coming!! Jekyll and I are spinning in Edmonton in March (March 17th)...
Come and check us out, closing off the party and keeping you dancing right until the end.
Check this mix out, I'm sure you'll like it. I've encoded this one at a higher bit rate, so let me know. Should we keep it at 128kpbs, or do you guys like the higher quality? Come on, let us know!!
The tracks in this mix include:

A Bit Sketchy - Original Mix by BSOD
Foreplay - Koma & Bones Remix by Klaus Heavyweight Hill remixed by Koma & Bones

Wed, 14 Feb 2007 12:30:01 -0700
Ok, so I know how everyone likes their specific genre of music. Some people love breaks, other's die for epic trance... Well, rather then just stick to one genre I love to explore a certain set (Sorry, I don't really like epic trance in the same way I used to). This mix mixes (HAHAHA, aren't I funny?) breaks (Progressive and otherwise) with electro house and even a little techno.
Just Messin comes in at just under an hour (55+ minutes) and is bangin in around 135BPM.

--Mr Hyde - Bout Time! - Dr Jekyll VS DTDR
Tue, 06 Feb 2007 19:49:26 -0700
New mix is going up this week. A little bit of a deviation from the usual duo of myself and mix master Mr Hyde.
Several years ago, I had an opportunity to throw down some bangin' house tracks at Twilight Afterhours with resident, and Edmonton DJ local favorite "DTDR". Although we've had a few random chances to mix together since then, we haven't recorded anything. Flash forward a few years and musical genres, finally, and you have this week's mix;
'Bout Time! - Dr Jekyll VS DTDR
-- Dr Jekyll - Mr Hyde - Rough Around The Edges
Sat, 20 Jan 2007 11:53:55 -0700
This weeks offering is a techno mix that comes in at 143 BPM. I've always loved techno and it was about time that one of us post a techno mix to the podcast. Techno for me has always been a blast to spin. The speed that these tracks are played at just seem to keep me pumping... Don't get me wrong, breaks are great, but there just seems to be something about techno that gets into my soul and just makes me start dancing around.
Tracks for this mix are:
Love Delux - Original Mix by Ortin Cam
Just Lay - Marco Nastic Remix by Elton D remixed by Marco Nastic
Murder Was The Bass - Chris Liebing 'CTTO' Mix by DK remixed by Chris Liebing
The B-East Roller - Ben Sims Hardgroove Edit by Len Faki remixed by Ben Sims

--Mr Hyde - Mr Hyde - To The Point
Sun, 24 Dec 2006 10:23:58 -0700
Well. I decided that the Christmas break was a good time to put together a new mix... Check out To The Point... This is a shorter mix (Because you need to spend some time with your family) and it comes in at 33 minutes in length.
Tracks include:
Aquaboogie - Original Mix by Jedeye
Get Shift - Far Too Loud Remix by D-Ranged
Swept Away - 2006 Re-Edit by The Funk Lab
El Regulado - Original Mix y DJ Icey
Back To Normal - Breaks Mix by Oliver Moldan
And Go - Original Mix by DJ Icey
To The Point is a breaks mix and builds upon the style that Jekyll and I have been laying down the last little while. Look for hard driving beats and nice break downs coming at you at 140 BPM.
We've also had requests to up the quality of the MP3's in the podcast, so we've changed the format to 128kbps, up from the 96kbps we were encoding them at previously. Also, if you would like a high quality MP3's suitable for burning to a CD, drop us a line and we'll make those MP3's available to you. - Jekyll - Break it or Leave it (Part 2 - Extended)
Mon, 18 Dec 2006 11:23:46 -0700
My offering this week is inspired by none other than Mr Hyde's "Break it Or Leave it". And seeing as how an original name elludes me right now, I'm just tacking a Part 2 on the end of it. :)
Adding to Mr Hyde's floor filling style of driving breakbeat is my own dash of dirty breaks/house. With tracks from big up party breaks labels such as Finger Lickin', Against the Grain, and Cut & Run. Watch for tracks like;
"Get 'em High" - Stanton Warriors F/ Sway
"Unconditional" - The Bravery (Benny Benassi Remix)
"Never Coming Back" - Stereo 8
"Detroit" - Unknown Artist (Cut & Run remix)
-Dr Jekyll - Mr Hyde - Journey in music
Fri, 08 Dec 2006 17:12:53 -0700
Careful with this one! Journey in music starts off nice and easy with a few breaks tracks but you'll be pounding the floor to hard dance by the end of the set... Hyde takes you through breaks, house and hard dance in this mix so check out this 40 odd minute mix.
Check out the tracks in this mix by:
Evolutionary - Original Mix by Mortlock
Towards The Sun - Evil Nine Remix by Future Funk Squad remixed by Evil Nine

As always, we are interested in feedback so please either leave a comment on our blog (For those that have a blogger.com account) or email us directly at book [at] jekyllandhyde [dot] ca. Tell us how we're doing, what you think of the tracks and what else we can put on the site.

Mon, 27 Nov 2006 16:29:28 -0700
In addition to the absolutely solid mixes by Mr Hyde the last several weeks (well done Laurence!), my next offering will offer a little bit of a change up. Featuring classic tracks from everyone's favourite hard dance labels (Tidy, Nukleuz Black/Red, Tripoli, and more). It's driving, hard, aggressive, and something you may want to have in your car's CD player if you're a few minutes late for work.. :)
Take it easy until then! - Mr Hyde - Langkawi
Mon, 13 Nov 2006 16:45:29 -0700
