In January 2006, a group of nearly 60 Western Grebes were found stranded and starving on the beach at Ocean Shores, Washington. They were taken to the PAWS wildlife rehabilitation center in Lynnwood, Washington.

Visitors to the Centre can view the birds on Bass Rock, the Isle of May and Fidra by remote controlled video cameras, using the latest telemetry to rotate, pan and zoom to get the best possible views of the birds.
