    Venusian - Farewell Freedom
    Tues, 26 Dec 2006 01:58:35 GMT
Been holding back on posting this tune until we had a solid project name. Venusian is the latest effort from Blue Distortion, teaming up Recipher and Tohuwabohu. Farewell Freedom is drum and bass track with a wide variety of instruments: chopped up drums, guitars, distorted guitars, piano that took quite a while to compose. We hope you enjoy it. You can check out our page for Venusian on Blue Distortion. If you like the style, stay tuned for more tunes from this project. We have more near completion.

    Infinity Modulator - Hot Rod
    Sat, 2 Dec 2006 06:11:09 GMT
Please welcome new artist (Neil) Infinity Modulator, to the Blue Distortion podcast. The attached tune, which can be found on his space, is a funky breakbeat mix with some dope layered, mechanical drums (much to our liking). Neil, who told us he is very influenced by dark, atmospheric sounds, uses mainly software to create and arrange his music. Some of the software includes Reaktor, Cubase and Ableton Live. Enjoy and see you next week. :)

    Michael North - Apergy
    Thu, 23 Nov 2006 05:00:33 GMT
Getting back on the train here, sorry for the terrible delay in the latest download! Again, thanks for sticking with us, hopefully most are still subscribed to the feed. We have some more strange and quirky electronica for you this week from our friend Micheal North. This piece Apergy, which is part of the Sine Fiction album, is an largely improvised, imaginary soundtrack to the book 'A Journey in Other Worlds' by J.J. Astor (1894). I do think we will be featured this whole series, so, stay tuned for more. Keep those tunes coming!

Mike Vernusky - Means and Meditations
    Mon, 24 Jul 2006 21:59:06 GMT
Means and Meditations is a destructive and eclectic experimental noise piece from the mind of Mike Vernusky. It won a Digital Art Award in Japan. The Digital Art Award is designed to encourage, support, and promote digital content produced by creative students.
< Means and Meditations was composed primarily with a Serge analog synthesizer and an Emu analog synthesizer, one of my favorites to work with. Also present in the work are field recordings, white noise, and processed gamelan samples. Gamelan is a kind of musical ensemble of Indonesian origin typically featuring a variety of instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, drums, and gongs. Enjoy!

Look at the Skies - 42 Negative Statements
    Sat, 24 Jun 2006 03:13:57 GMT
Look at the Skies is a duo of Australians (Scott and Rob) curently residing in London. All of their tracks, which are available on their website, are played and recorded live with only minimal preparation. They use a Powerbook, Ableton Live, Absynth, Phatmatic Pro, MFB Synthlite II, DSI Evolver, BugBrand Weevil, Korg Electribe and various circuit bent pedals. There are some images on their website of the setup. These electronics combine to form a sinister, 20 minute journey entitled 42 Negative Statements. It is ambient, noisy, dark as ****, and will probably destroy your speakers, ears and neural connections. Most of all, it's a lot of fun! Enjoy!
