Barefoot Radio 106 (First Fridays) - In Studio Guests, The Professor, Edward Giovanni, and more.
    Mon, 08 Oct 2007 14:25:24 -0600
Barefoot Radio has brought lots of people to the microphone, and this First Fridays was no exception. Old and new voices came on the microphone. The Professor joined me for a fun time as the studio was closed to an invite only gathering of friends and family. I went on about my graphic prostate issues which The Professor did some serious bytching about and all seemed well with the world. Edward Giovanni, my shortlived cohost stopped by to face the Professor face to face. Do you remember him? He kept the Professor's 'seat warm' when I sent away the Professor from the show. A cute young woman named Christine came on the microphone, my friend 'Shinndig' from my college days was here, and my drinking buddy, Jeff, from the 'drunken days of Quivas.' I'm proud to wrap up Barefoot Radio on this note, especially knowing the company overall has been growing. Thanks to everyone else who showed up like Greco, my cousins Johnny and Tony, my sister Laura, A.J., Zuzana, Mason Tvert, StonerBoy, Holly G, Misha and Billy the Intern.

Barefoot Radio 105 (First Fridays) - Greco Messages, The Professor and more.
    Fri, 14 Sep 2007 15:41:00 -0600
The summer is winding down, but tonight I was wound up. First Fridays filled up the studio with curious onlookers and the show started out on a crazy note with me sharing my good buddy Greco's phone message. I then proceeded to call his father to confront him on the phone. The Professor was present to offer up an always colorful perspective. Our featured artists, Tara Raine, Nicholas Baldridge, and artistic photographer Mark Veljkovich. Everybody helped to create a unique evening at Barefoot Radio. There were many guests on the mic including Eileen, my cousin Tony, and my good buddy Dave who was my MP3 show cohost 'back in the day.'

With the summer in full swing, tonight was one of the most packed First Fridays ever. The Professor in tow, we spent a couple hours bytching and being silly. Holly G was in and out of the studio hyping Marijuana Radio. We also welcomed our two featured returning artists for the evening, Juliette Hemingway and Jacie. Both of these ladies were fun and open minded on the microphone. Tune in to get an idea of our evening down here on Santa Fe Drive. If you like what you hear, maybe you'll be inspired to do a studio walk through next month?

Barefoot Radio 103 (First Fridays) With the Professor!
    Sat, 07 Jul 2007 08:49:04 -0600
We boast one of the most interesting stories in the history of podcasting. Here's the yearly anniversary of Barefoot Radio during First Fridays, now routine, and fun all year. The queen of Ganga, Holly G, was in the studio to promote our meteoric other program, Marijuana Radio. We were joined by the Professor who is always ready with an interesting perspective. We also got the artistic scoop from our unique featured artists Troy and Gerard. Barefoot Radio lives and we're proving the naysayers totally lame.

Barefoot Radio 102 (First Fridays) Professor Returns!
    Sat, 02 Jun 2007 20:34:34 -0600
This episode of Barefoot Radio sports a 'classic' tone with the return of the Professor to the microphone. It was the usual unpredictable event on First Fridays. We welcomed a very nice and talented featured artist to the studio and I probably offended her Russian friend by saying I heard that '50 percent' of Russian girls would prostitute themselves. Me and my big mouth! A while after that, my sister heard me recount a moment when I put a minute amount of marijuana in my father's spaghetti sauce. She ran to tattle to my parents and they laughed at her. Haha. There was lots of great conversation in this episode. Barefoot Radio LIVES.

'Onward and onward' This episode features myself hosting First Fridays on May 4th, 2007. In it I talk very much about our popular project, Marijuana Radio. As well, I was joined by our Featured Artist, Johnothan Albertina for a very interesting conversation. Then in came Abbey from Barefoot Wine to warm up the mix.

One more First Fridays episode in the bag. This one is unique as I made the deliberate decision to host the show all alone. I still had company come in later on. I got the chance to talk to our featured artist, Juliette Hemingway, and her interesting 'Funky Cool' artistic style. My dad and Daniel the intern wound up keeping me company in hour two. Big E called on the phone and apologized, and he'll probably be back for the next round.

'First Fridays yet again' In this 'spirited' first fridays, I explain some of what's going on with my business priorities. We also got a chance to speak with Molly, our very interesting and talented featured artist for the evening. I am my usual arrogant self, loudmouthed and opinionated in the face of a walk through audience. The 'Barefoot Wine' tasted wonderful. Tune in for more BF. Bring on the 'fresh' audience. 'Nipple piercing and Arum Rae' Something is going right over here. It's that doing fewer shows, and pouring more sweat into them, is better for the overall show. Tonight BF continues it's foray into producing internet television that you will all get to see. We find our eyes spellbound at the sight of Big E's pain while he had not ONE, but BOTH nipples pierced on the program! If that wasn't enough stimulation, Arum Rae joined us in the studio for a performance and charming interview that followed. Destiny, a stripper bared her enormous breasts right in front of Arum's innocent looking eyes. Leaving me 'starstruck,' Arum's song will not leave my mind. For the detractors who thought that the situation over here is fading away, on the contrary, we're evolving into something bigger. Stay tuned for the 'new' Barefoot Radio television coming soon.

'Barefoot Spirit Squad' This could be called a rather 'spirited' episode of Barefoot Radio. Edward and Myself made the show a Barefoot delight. Is Edward more over the top than me? Listen and find out. We had a handful of great guests. Our featured artist, Jacie, was a pleasure to have in the studio and a good sport. Abbey, the rep from 'Barefoot Wine' was also in the studio and she's quite a fun going lady. Two 'roller derby' girls muscled their way into the studio to promote their stuff. This is another one of those episodes that other podcasters only 'wish' they could generate. The 'live' energy from the people is what makes Barefoot Radio so special! Enjoy!

I'm feeling a bit more at ease in this 'new' mix of the show, and tonight was no exception. We covered a wide range of odd topics, both political and serious. In the future I will travel to China to investigate first hand this phenomenon of promiscuos teenagers. I'll bop from Bejing to Hong Kong and see if they're all as slutty as they say. We did some war politics, sexist nonsense, racist nonsense, gross nonsense, and just plain nonsense. Tune in for a good time!

In many ways I felt like my old 'Barefoot' self in this episode. Holly G and Edward accompanied me tonight as I went on for quite a while ranting about how I think the war is wrong, as well as any use of nuclear weapons. We then wound up talking about the death penalty, Britney Spears, Toyota, Global Warming etc. One true oddity is that though I enjoyed this show, I still had an inclination not to put it on the net. However, here it is, you true and remaining 'Barefooters.' Bless you in the name of the Barefoot.

"Short and Sweet" As the title implies, this was a short and sweet episode. It was our pleasure to welcome Denver native band Zebra Junction in the studio for a unique performance. These two guys play about 20 instruments live. This is totally a podcast worth checking out. Other segments include us talking about the priest who taught my confirmation classes as a teen is being charged with molesting kids. I did a tasteless impression of him. This was a short but 'winner' episode. We had 6 cams filming it and a vidcast should follow in the coming weeks. You know you love us.

"Up one..." This episode was a definite notch up from last week's episode, giving credence to my supposition that chemistry grows. Daniel the intern, Edward, Holly G and Jamie the Soundman all showed up in this mix. We had another stellar First Fridays. Abby from Barefoot Wine, this First Fridays sponsor came on the mic to promote the delicious product. Super thank you to that company for hooking us up with such a delicious treat. My wine expert Dad was on hand to offer up his opinion. Leah Mebane was tonight?s featured artist and what a lovely appearance it was. She put up with my ass ways like a super champ. She has a very interesting artistic style and I recommend others check her stuff out. I summoned some girl named Chelsea came to the mic and she seemed rather ?star struck? during the moment.

?Barefoot Improvisational Contact? As a producer I?ve said before that I have lots of anxiety leading up to a show. This was sort of true today and all elements fell together properly, I think we had another special show for that exhibits well the intellectual and goofy appeal of Barefoot Radio. K.B. from MarijuanaRadio.com sat in with myself, the Professor, and Daniel the intern, in this sausage fest of sausage fests. However there was the exception of two lovely ladies, Susan and Beth, demonstrating their unique dance method called ?contact improvisation.? I?ll update this with an email contact tomorrow. ?Simpler but Barefoot? This was a scaled down show with myself and the Professor in attendance. It?s funny how shows work. There are times when I stress myself out so badly before we start. The stress I put myself through is really not neccesary. Especially as the night goes on I feel comfort ease in. It really helps being around people who flow well with the whole thing. So there wound up being no Bytchphest. The time got eaten up by a rather interesting argument between Brian and Francisco. The Professor strummed the guitar while I tried to guess the name of the song. I pretended to sing some of those songs which sounded aweful since I hardly remember the lyrics. He totally pepped up after that and we had a cool conversation about podcasting. There?s another ?Annoying 80s? segment in this episode! There was NO Bytchphest SO BYTCH!!!!!!!!

?Tat was Stellar and LIVE in the studio.?? Proving once again that a podcast can be more than just a regular podcast, we welcomed Tat into the studio and they wound up playing a great acoustic set, as well as sittin? in the studio for an interview. We got tons of pictures which I?ll put up in a gallery soon. These guys are off to do more dates on the Warped Tour. Check to see if Tat will be playing in your town. Tim sat in and we discussed who we would catch a bullets for. The Professor gave a short emotional Bytchphest. It was about excess in life. The Bytch is an itch. The energy level was excellent in this episode.

I'll either be getting a person to handle the phones or hooking the phones up to shock me when they ring. Clever Ed had clever gems in the mix. The Bytchphest was a non racist racist fest. Get me? Many people came on the microphone including my dad, my sister, my cousin Mark, a host of super great women especially Tanya. There?s so much to this show. It was an awesome experiment in spontaneous possiblities for Barefoot Radio. Enjoy the most varied and dynamic Barefoot Radio yet. There were more people in this mix than ever.

"Dos." Episode number two seemed to go technically a bit better. I've discovered that there's something vibrating the building and it's very audible in the Bytchbooth. Hopefully I'll be able to find a solution to this annoying sound. Likely when I change the microphones that we're using it will not be nearly as audible. ?The Moral C-Word? Sometimes I have lots of anxiety that is unfounded. I wind up stressing myself more than I should about doing a show when it inevitably comes and goes with relative ease. It?s more challenging to me PREPARING for a show than actually doing it. This show turned out to be yet another good one! ?The Buzz of Kuzz is afoot!!!? Awesome show! Some of my FAVORITE moments ever are in this show! JIM FLORENTINE, THE PHONE PRANK GOD OF GODS, came on and talked candidly with many interesting stories. I had a blast, and then that moment became an AMAZING moment in Barefoot Radio history. I really enjoyed the emotion and exchange with Shirly from ?godhatesfags?. Needless to say, I totally disagree with her, but she came on and was part of a very funny, memorable segment. I heard I?m going to hell, but I already knew that! I can?t underestimate the emotional intesity in this part. Don?t miss it! I?m giggling with delight as I listen to it and I?m not even joking! I?m still lisetning now, I?m still in shock. There are wierd topics, as well, I played my first ?prank? that I?ve done since I got in trouble for pranking.
