- Deep Cuts #2
Sat, 26 Apr 2008 04:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)Well, we had a lot of fun the other week with our first release of Decoder Ring Theatre Deep Cuts... so let's do it again! Deep Cuts is our name for our vast collection of out-takes, B-Sides, rarities and assorted bric-a-brac for fans of our shows, and it's only available for direct download from the Fan Boards at AudioDramaTalk.com! Our last release was very much of the "out-take" variety, so here from the other side of the coin is the rarest rare track we've got... a very rough recording of a live show we did almost 10 years ago as a fundraiser of the studio recordings of the original "goofy" Red Panda mini-series. It's DRT Deep Cuts #2 - Dynamite Dame LIVE, and you can only get it via THIS LINK!
In other news, I've been negligent in not mentioning that the fantastic portrait of our masked heroes done for us by Chuck Lukacs is available for sale as a print from his online shop... I've got one of these, and they look fantastic! Get yours today at: http://www.earthenwoodstudio.com/html/print_gallery.html
- Red Panda Adventures (34) - The Empty Box
Sat, 19 Apr 2008 04:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)
The day they carried Sam Merk out of the courtroom, he swore he'd never serve the life sentence he'd been given. He promised that the judge, the jury... everyone that had had put him behind bars would suffer a voodoo curse until he was freed. Sat, 12 Apr 2008 21:10:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)Hey kids! Two bits of news this week. For reasons too boring to type here, we lost our entire email address history this week. With the help of Panda Patrol member Tim White, we were able to recover addresses for Donors, but as for everything else... Well, suffice to say if we used to have your contact info, we don't any more. And even if we didn't, we'd like to! We're hoping to have a special announcement coming up soon(ish) - so help us out by dropping us a line at info @ decoderringtheatre.com (and take out the spaces), and let us put you back in our little black book!
Secondly, here's a fun new feature I'm running over at our fanboards at audiodramatalk.com - DRT Deep Cuts! From time to time I'll be posting outtakes and other strange stuff in THIS THREAD - including today's post, taken from a rcording session this very morning for RPA #48.
These are posted at You Send It, so the link is good for 1 week or 100 downloads only! It's the ultimate B Side/rarity/easter egg thingie! So check back often at audiodramatalk.com and collect & trade 'em all!

A string of industrial accidents is plaguing the city, each more serious than the last. Little by little fear spreads, public confidence erodes and the economic engines of the city grind to a halt. With that Pompous Pirate of the Pen known only as The Poet on the loose, it was only a matter of time before clues in couplet form started sprouting up all over the city, each promising new crime more fiendish than the last. But Baxter's Law says "When the Goony-birds start changing their tune, there's usually something else goin' on." Will The Red Panda find the key to the villainous verse in time? Or will the city and it's masked protectors fall before... The Terrible Two? Sat, 23 Feb 2008 05:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)They say that music hath charms to soothe the savage breast. But like just about everything "they" say, truth is in the eye of the beholder. Sat, 9 Feb 2008 05:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)Everywhere you looked, there were goods to be gotten, and the getting often fell to Black Jack and Trixie. But there were consequences to be paid that often had nothing to do with the princely sum of thirty-five dollars a day, plus expenses. Sat, 26 Jan 2008 05:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)It sounded like a nice, simple job. Two sisters, estranged long ago over a man who was long gone. But Jack and Trixie know when it comes to family, nothing is ever quite that simple. Length: 31min Size: 11mb

Sat, 12 Jan 2008 05:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)
It wouldn't be quite right to say that Trixie had a soft spot in her heart for old Button-Down Theo. But she had a soft spot in her head for him anyway. After all, anyone who can make private detecting seem dull as dishwater must have some hidden talents. But when Theo gets himself in hot water, will the Girl Detective be able to persuade ol' Square Jaw to intervene? And if so, just who exactly is footing the bill. Sat, 29 Dec 2007 05:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)"Law stands mute in the midst of arms" they say. Well, that proves one thing anyway; old man Cicero never met Police Lieutenant Victor Sabien. He'd never stood mute a day in his life. And with ol' Square Jaw and the Girl Detective working at cross purposes through his office... to say nothing of the dynamic duo of Sgt Nelson and Freddie the Finger Hawthorne underfoot... well, can you blame the poor guy? Length: 32 min Size 11 mb

Sat, 15 Dec 2007 05:00:00 GMT Author: info@decoderringtheatre.com (Gregg Taylor)"...But to me, it was as if the city had emptied out at the word of Jack Justice's return. As well they might. As well they might..."
Yes, Jack Justice and Trixie Dixon, Girl Detective return for all-new hardboiled adventure and mystery. But with Jack out to settle a score, and Trixie trying to close the books on a murder that's still unsolved at least partly due to the efforts of our intrepid private eyes, it's anyone's guess if they'll both wind up on a slab, if Lt. Sabien'll run them both in, or if ol' square jaw will finally get some... Payback! Length: 29min. Size: 10.3mb

Five (or maybe six) years before the current Decoder Ring Theatre podcast shows began, we recorded these very different style "Red Panda" shows as a pilot project for traditional radio broadcast. They were the genesis for what we're doing now, but they are almost completely different from the "re-booted" universe of The Red Panda Adventures
When we started running these podcasts, I broke the ice with these shows as our first six podcast episodes. With more people discovering our shows every day... well, these ones are getting harder and harder to explain... especially to people who never visit this page directly.
So to end the confusion once and for all, a full year and thousands of downloads later, I'm taking these off the feed. But you can still get them if you want them. Just direct download from the link in each post (PC users, you'll want to right-click and choose "save target as...").
