Matthew will answer a few more of the many questions still unanswered. See you there and don't forget your favorite movie quote!
I've been thinking about death this week - No, not the sadness that comes from loss and separation, but legacy. Legacy is what people remember about us when we are gone, BUT we write our legacy hear, now, while we're still kicking - not when we're in heaven.
If the story is true, the legacy left by George Washington cutting down the cherry tree was made when he was very young - perhaps only 6 years old. Martin Luther was a bit older, but still a young man when he nailed the "95 Theses" to the door of the Catholic Church. Mother Teresa was 18 when she left home to become a missionary that began the life serving the poor. We write our legacy our whole life.
So, what will be MY legacy? What will be YOUR legacy? What are you doing TODAY to write your legacy?
I guess you?ve noticed by now I?m not much of a blogger, but I?m learning!
It?s hard to be ?on top of my game? all the time.Life can get busy and hard at times, but God is good ? he always has been and always will be.I was reading this weekend and was reminded of this verse in 1 Corinthians 9:24 (The Message):
You?ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race.Everyone runs; one wins.Run to win.All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You?re after one that?s gold eternally.
Although I want to encourage you to ?Run to win? in everything you attempt: music, sports, speech, dance, academics, relationships, etc; don?t lose site of the ultimate goal ? the one that will not fade, tarnish or disappear in our fading memories.God designed us and wants deeply to connect with us.Seeking this connection is the ?gold medal that never fades??

Faith Development Camp Well we are all home and I have just posted the rest of my pics from FDC. What a GREAT week! We continued through the week talking about Holiness. Thursday was all about Purity where we talked about sexual purity as well as spiritual purity. Friday we finished off with talking about calling and that we are ALL called to serve those around us with our lives. That is not an option. Ike finished the week with a vivid retelling of David and Goliath that challenged us to conquer the giants in our community and to stand up for God no matter the cost.
.::FDC Days 3-4 Thu, 10 Jul 2008 11:30:00 -0700 Faith Development Camp We we continue to roll on through FDC. Things continue to go GREAT! Day Three was all about SANCTIFICATION and we talked about the process of becoming HOLY. Ike, our guest speaker continues to BRING IT with the Word. He is preaching his SOCKS off!!!
Day Four's theme was "Sabbath." We slept in, had breakfast in bed, and spent a ton of time hanging out with God. It was restful. It was fulfilling to the soul. It was amazing. IT was great to have a time when you live out theology and experience God's plan first hand and really learn something. Powerful, powerful stuff....
Faith Development Camp Yes-sir-ee! Camp is Happening! And it is GREAT! What an AMAZING priviledge it is to be on the FRONT ROW of seeing God working mightily in the lives of our young people. It is so cool to see them dive in to worship, to lay themselves out before God through Quiet Time, to experience community by building new friendships, to sacrifice by helping out around camp, to trust by trying new things like art, crafts, warball, prayer, and more. What a great great thing this camp is.

.::Sr Trip 08! Thu, 19 Jun 2008 19:58:00 -0700 This was one of the greatest Senior Trip ever! After loading up early on Monday morning, we headed out to Mineta San Jose Airport. The group thought I was just fooling them until we went through the security line to board a plane to Los Angeles. We landed and then headed out to Venice beach for some killer waves and hanging out in the sun. We then went from there to Beverly Hills of a bit of sightseeing. We grabbed dinner at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles! It was epic. We then headed to our motel for some swimming and cards.
The next morning we got up and headed out to Magic Mountain for some serious rolle coaster action. We hit over 15 different rides for the day before getting some funnel cake and crashing at the hotel.
We ended the trip with some time at the Getty Museum to see some van goughs, Monets, and Renoirs. It was AMAZING! Thank you for a great trip and some awesome memories. You will never look at another Fed Ex logo the same again!
Everyone make sure to come out on June 13th for a
fun game day featuring capture the flag and other outdoor games. Also make sure

in the outdoors and to celebrate summer. Make sure to bring a friend to enjoy
the fun too!
Today was the Final In Studio Audio Update. We will record another show @ FDC. We had an office FULL of people to celebrate! It was amazing! If you get a chance either

wonderful, wonderful news, and much, much and much, much, much, much,
more..... !!!

.::My 15 Minutes of Fame Wed, 28 May 2008 16:26:00 -0700 MY FIFTEEN MINUTES OF FAME Soon after Amy I were married we got the chance to see a taping of "The
Seinfeld Show" as extras. It was one of the longest nights of my
life. It was not glamorous. It was not exciting. Actually, it was
pretty boring since they would stop, set up a shot, do a scene, redo
that scene two or three times. Then stop, set up the next shot and so
on and so on and so on. Half of the time they were on a different part
of the set that we couldn't even see. As I looked back at this, I
couldn't help but wonder, "What are those things that we think are really, really great, only to find out they are a big disappointment? Why might God set things up that way? What are the lessons to be learned about expectations?
But I did get my face on national TV and here are some screen grabs to prove it:
You?ve may have heard a little bit about twitter lately. I am trying it out to see what all the buzz is about and I would love for you to join me in using this new communication tool. But what is it? Well in short, it?s sending a text message (140 characters) to all your friends at the same time. The cool part is your friends can decide how they want to receive it. Maybe they will only read it on the computer, maybe it will come in their IM client, or maybe they?ll have it come to their phone like a traditional text message. It?s an easy way to share with your friends what you are up to as you are doing it. This video might help explain it better:
How do you get started? 1. Go to Twitter.com and click ?Get Started - Join!? 2. Then create your account on the account page. Then find people to follow? 3. To follow someone go to their page and click the follow button under their picture. Go to http://twitter.com/surdacki to follow me.
When?Wednesday, May 22, 20082:00-6:00pm Where?Campbell Church Oak Room Who?Anyone & Their Friends? What?A time to go crazy with the Wii on the BIG
CREENI Cost?Free (bring snacks, your own wiimote, games,
guitars, nunchucks, etc.) Can I come if I DON?T
have a wiimote?ABSOLUTELY! Why? Just lookin? for a time of kickin? back and
going crazy with a casual time of gaming.

High School Students
Grades 9-12 July 6-12, 2008 Daybreak Camp · Cost= $225 before May 15th
Faith Development Camp is a week to bring students in touch with the
power of God through Jesus Christ. Everything at FDC strives to
challenge youth to develop their faith. The Bible can be confusing, and
discerning God's call for our lives in this hectic world can be
difficult at times. At FDC prayer muscles will be stretched and
challenged as you lean on God for everything in your life. Our worship
times are amazing experiences that give you the opportunity to come
face to face with God.
Junior High School Students
Grades 6-8 July 13-18, 2008 Daybreak Camp · Cost=$225 before May 15th
Wildside is the junior high session of Faith Development Camp. The
purpose of Wildside is to better equip and prepare students for their
walk with Christ by giving them opportunities to discover who God is
and what he does in their lives. Through our educational modules, quiet
times, meadow times, prayers, and encounters we will look at how we as
Christians are to be faithful, righteous, and can have a better life
through the spirit.
