What an honor it is to welcome Dr. H.D. McCarty to the Bell Shoals pulpit this morning. Dr. McCarty had a 33 year career in the United States Air Force/Reserves/Air Guard, serving as both a pilot and chaplain. Statistics tell us that financial problems, guilt, fear of death, and feelings of insignificance are among the greatest of those anxieties. It is with deepest regret that we inform you that our Pastor of Music and Worship, Simeon Nix, has passed into the presence of God. Simeon suffered an apparent heart attack at around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, August 16th, and was transported to the Brandon Hospital. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he passed away around 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning. We appreciate your concern for Beth and the children and request that you would lift them up in prayer during this difficult time.
