Dodging the fusillades of gunshot big and small, including that of the world's most-used weapon of mass destruction—the Russian-made AK47—the Kalashnikov, the weapon of choice for armies, guerrillas, criminals and international arms dealers. After that, join the escapades of a bunch of folkloric merry men fighting against injustice and tyranny with bows and arrows—the medieval and Hollywood-ised Robin Hood. Sounds that linger longer open up spaces for reflection, remembering and rhythm. From a whisper to a scream, the echoes of eternity reverberate in The Night Air—at least for a while. This week's Collide-o-scope is by Jonathon Hutchinson. He writes: 'In Guise explores the divide between what is perceived and what is the person, placed in front of an urban period that is between sunset and sunrise. It is also part of a greater project from the third year RMIT University students for The Night Air surrounding the theme of Isolation.' Read and hear more here. The Night Air team visits Perama, a Greek restaurant in Sydney's Petersham, and is regaled with Greek poetry, wine and song by owner Harry Tanvakeras. Perama's chef David Tsirekas offers up examples of traditional and new Greek cuisine, with history lessons aplenty. Virtual guests at the festivities include Greek-Australian writers Mary Zournazi, Dimitris Tsaloumas, Vivi Katsounadis-Germanos, Tes Lyssiotis, John Conomos, Antigone Kefala, and Pi.O. Yassou!
