- Gabon Episode 10 Listener Feedback
Tue, 25 Nov 2008 08:21:00 GMT
We definitely ended up with two, polarized camps to describe episode 10. Some people loved it and others found it lacking. The other big discussion points: Was Bob playing strategically or was he just in it to help Sugar get revenge on Randy? Is Sugar way smarter than anyone is giving her credit for?We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we hear from: Linda, Fancy, Bob, Jeannie, John, Billy, Christy, Becky, Shelley, Shane, Suzanne, Gary, Ian, DrewT, Becca, DrewG, Brian, KathyS, Doug, Paul, Carol, Graham, Mike, Holly, Tim and Kimberly
We've got several ways you can reach us. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-1547. You can record an audio comment and attach it or just type up a quick text message and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. The intro is from the Survivor 17 Soundtrack courtesy of Russ Landau which is available on iTunes. Click the album art below if you're interested in purchasing a track or the album from the iTunes store. The outro song is dedicated to Randy. We think he'd appreciate the title and the lyrics.

Wow, first Susie and now Kenny. Who's next, Crystal?
Several of us imagined elaborate plans for how Bob might take advantage of his fake HII. Very few if any saw its potential as a masterful joke constructed by Sugar. Do you think he made the best choice for himself?Does Corrine stand a chance to make final 3, or is she simply a pawn now waiting for the axe to fall? When is the best time to get rid of Sugar? Who do you think will make the final 3? Who do you think is the biggest threat to win it all now?
Here is the tribe after the tenth episode:
NOBAG: Bob, Crystal, Corinne, Ken, Matty, Sugar and Susie
Jo Ann's going with the safe bet and picking Corrine to go next. Stacy thinks the time is right to go after Sugar. Who do you think will be voted out next?

One, two, three... the blindsides just keep coming! Are you surprised that tiny little Ken has been behind the last two?
Bonzai Bob wins the award for "Best Fake HII". What do you think his best strategy for using it is now that the tribes merged?Susie guaranteed herself three more days by winning individual immunity. Who saw that coming? We've seen a couple of significant swing vote scenarios in the last two episodes. How do you think next week will play out now that there's an even number of players left? Do you find yourself rooting for the underdogs? Would you be happy if Susie, Crystal or Ken won it all?
Here is the new merge tribe after the ninth episode:
NOBAG: Bob, Crystal, Corinne, Ken, Matty, Randy, Sugar and Susie
At this point, we think the tribe has grown tired of Randy and will send him to join the Charlie and Marcus fashion show at the Ponderosa. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Wow, Dr Feelgood made an early exit. Most of us didn't see that one coming, but six savvy JSFL players were rewarded with a 2 point FoJ, First on Jury, bonus this week!
Sugar surprised no one by crying after learning that she had betrayed the one person that had consistently protected her. Bob was sure regretting last week's choice too. Do you think it would have hurt Marcus in any way to let Susie pick who they were voting out this week? Was it truly wise to discard the HII or would you have taken it to guarantee yourself at least 3 more days? Do you think Susie really stands a chance to make it to final 3? Why is Kenny so confident that he will make final 4?
Here are the new tribes after the eighth episode:
New New KOTA: Bob,Crystal, Ken, and Susie
New New FANG: Charlie, Corinne, Matty,Randy, and SugarIf next week's immunity is a team effort, we both think Bob will be next to go. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Woohoo! We got our first blindside plus a masterful demonstration of vote splitting to flush a potential HII.
Sugar betrayed the one person that had consistently protected her. So, who really turned out to the be snake in that alliance? Dan's social awkwardness and lack of impulse control around food sealed his fate. Do you think it will be a better long term choice to stick with fickle Susie?Poor Matty. He's on the outside at Fang and viewed as a physical threat by Kota. Will he be our next quitter or the next one voted out? Is Sugar really better off with Ken and Crystal instead of Ace and Matty? Do you think Marcus will bring her into the Onion alliance or will they simply use the same technique they used on Dan to flush out the real HII? Do you think we'll see a merge in the next episode and has Randy completely lost it or has he secured himself a spot in the final four?
Here are the new tribes after the seventh episode:
New KOTA: Bob, Charlie, Corinne, Marcus, Randy, and Susie
New FANG: Crystal, Ken, Matty, and SugarWe both think Matty will be the next one voted out. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Today we interviewed Kelly Czarnecki. She left the game in episode 6 of Survivor Gabon. Kelly's "straight talk" strategy certainly made her Tribal Council visits interesting and entertaining.
Listen to this interview to learn how she was chosen for Survivor, who she thinks is calling all the shots at Fang, who she would like to see win plus answers to questions you submitted and lots more!If you are not a subscriber to the Survivor Fans Podcast, you can click the Listen Now button on the webpage and the interview will download and play on your computer.

- Gabon Episode 6
Fri, 24 Oct 2008 07:08:00 GMT
For better or worse, it seems safe to say that Kelly always spoke her mind. Unfortunately for her, that seemed to secure her a spot at Loser's Lodge instead of a place in the merged tribe.
The Brat alliance is down to two remaining members and they will very likely go in their own respective directions very soon now. Do you think the ongoing fragmentation in Fang will leave them all as free agents once the merge occurs? Will new Kota stay tight if a wealth of new voting options opens up?Not only is Dan comfortable enough to share his leadership style now, he also is at ease enough to eat until he's full and ignore the unspoken rules of appropriate food proportions. Susie's position seems to improve every time Dan acts on an impulse. Do you think Randy stepped over the line this time? Will his gloating come back to haunt him? Do you think Matty will keep his word to Ace? Is Sugar playing a strategic game or just following instructions?
Here are the new tribes after the sixth episode:
New KOTA: Bob, Charlie, Corinne, Dan, Marcus, Randy, and Susie
New FANG: Ace, Crystal, Ken, Matty, and SugarJo Ann thinks Ace and Dan will go in next week's double elimination. Stacy agrees that Dan will go from Kota, but thinks it will be Crystal instead of Ace . Who do you think will be voted out next?

Uhg, at least the first person that quit last season was suffering from a broken jaw. Who knows, maybe GC will get to DJ at the finale.
The Brat alliance led by the Evil 3 took a big hit this week. Will this spell the end for them or will they rally to take down Ace as their losing streak continues?Dan's so comfortable at the new Kota tribe, that he's decided to let his true self show through. Do you think he might have just made himself a bigger target than quiet Susie? How is it that Kelly lasted longer than GC? Do you think there's any chance that Fang can rally at this point? Have you started rooting for Ace yet?
Here are the new tribes after the fifth episode:
New KOTA: Bob, Charlie, Corinne, Dan, Marcus, Randy, and Susie
New FANG: Ace, Crystal, Kelly, Ken, Matty, and SugarJo Ann thinks Ace will be the next to be voted out. Stacy is worried that Ken may be in jeopardy but believes that Crystal will be the next Evil 3 casualty. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Whew, that took a lot more work than usual. We finished recording this 2.5 hour show and then realized that most of the audio saved on the PC was unusable. We had so much fun compiling and recording all of your comments that we knew we had to fix it and get it out to you. Fortunately, we record with a backup and we were able to recover most of it. The audio quality where we read or respond in the last 2/3s of the show suffered quite a bit in the process, but we hope it's still something you can enjoy. Thanks so much to everyone that took the time to send in their thoughts and predictions. Wow, we still haven't had a blindside at Tribal Council, but they sure blindsided the fans with this episode.
We never figured we would see such a well rounded player in a strong alliance go out this early. Kelly got her revenge and plenty of airtime this week. What do you think about the new tribes? Were you impressed with Kelly this week? Does she have a smart, strong social game, or is she just lucky? What would you have done if you had a chance to collect a second HII? If Fang loses again, who should they focus on to vote out? What do you think about this final four: GC, Crystal, Ken and Kelly?
Here are the new tribes after the fourth episode:
KOTA: Bob, Charlie, Corrine, Dan, Marcus, Randy, and Susie
FANG: Ace, Crystal, GC, Kelly, Ken, Matty, and SugarJo Ann thinks Ken will be the next to be voted out. Stacy thinks Sugar will be blindsided. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Sounds like most of you really enjoyed episode 3 as much as we did. Sugar's quest for the HII played a big part in that, and the two excellent challenges kept us focused on this new season despite the fact that no one has been blindsided yet in Tribal Council. Thanks to everyone that took the time to send in their thoughts and predictions. - Gabon Episode 3
Fri, 3 Oct 2008 07:54:00 GMT
Now that both tribes have gotten rid of the "weakest" players, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Poor Paloma never really seemed to have a chance. She appeared to share some negative qualities with Michelle which similarly set her on a course to leave early. Go back and look at her bio picture and then consider how she carried herself in the game. It's like looking at two different people. Was she perhaps trying to con everyone much like Ace?Randy's head wound seems to be healed, but now he seems to be on a crash course with GC. Which will go first Randy or the Golden Child? Are the seams in Ace's con game starting to show or is he the real deal? Given the opportunity, would you have voted him out instead of Paloma? Who's playing the better game: Ace or Sugar? Do you think we're likely to see a tribe shuffle next week?
Here are tribes after the third episode:
KOTA: Ace, Bob, Charlie, Corinne, Jacquie, Kelly, Marcus, and Sugar
FANG: Crystal, Dan, GC, Ken, Matty, Randy, and SusieJo Ann thinks Susie will be the next to be voted out. Stacy thinks GC's time is finally up. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Jo Ann and Stacy - Gabon Episode 1 and 2
Fri, 26 Sep 2008 08:51:00 GMTWoohoo! Survivor's back and finally in HD which was every bit as stunning as we had always imagined.
Surprise, the Parvati clone turns out to not have any social game and the "older" female is singled out for being weak. Well that first one was a surprise for many of us even though Jeff Probst essentianly called it for both women in the pre-season interviews. What do you think Randy's chances are for having to leave for medical reasons? How much longer will Crystal be able to keep her secret? Who do you think will become the "evil" alliance? What did you think about Jeff's questions at the first tribal council?
Here are tribes after the combo episode:
KOTA: Ace, Bob, Charlie, Corinne, Jacquie, Kelly, Marcus, Paloma, and Sugar
FANG: Crystal, Dan, GC, Ken, Matty, Randy, and SusieJo Ann thinks Paloma will be the next to be voted out. Stacy thinks GC will push his tribe over the edge as Fang continues their losing streak. Who do you think will be voted out next?

Thu, 25 Sep 2008 23:13:00 GMT
Curious how the JSFL picks turned out?
We created two charts, Week1a and Week1b, for the first episode since two castaways will be voted out.
How did your choices compare?

Jo Ann and Stacy - JSFL Registration for Survivor Gabon is Closed
Tue, 23 Sep 2008 17:57:00 GMT
The response for those interested in this season's JSFL has been wonderful.
In fact, it has been so good that we need to close registration early to make sure we keep it at a manageable number of players.
This is going to be the most challenging season to date with two eliminations in the first episode. All you "fence sitters" need to get your picks in pronto! :)
Thanks,
