- Don't Do Business With Beachbody.com
Tue, 24 Jan 2006 19:10:00 -0600
So as all our listeners know, I am trying to get back in shape, lose a few pounds, and just try and be heathier this year. Of course it is a lifestyle change but I'm working real hard at making the change.
I watched an infomercial yes I watched it while riding the recumbant bike. I was sold on a workout DVD called Turbo Jam. It's like doing ab work without the crunches which I'm all about. It looked good and I did some further research on it. Amazon sells it for the same price but I couldn't get express shipping for free as I would if I bought through the company. So I did it and went to their website to order it because I'm all about ordering online and not over the phone. You know the techie side of me, besides who wants to wait on hold and press all the VRU buttons to get to an actual person.
Anyway, when I placed the order online I got tons of timeouts so I figured my order didn't go through. I tried again a little later and still got the timeouts. So I did a check in with the online chat. They told me they did not have my order and to check back later. I did just that again through the online chat because I thought that was just so cool. Still nothing and I didn't get any email confirmations. I figured OK the first screen that asked for my information was not the final confirmation as most sites have a confirmation and this did not.
Was I ever WRONG. But silly me, placed another order on another day and once again timeout errors. So I did it twice. Well long story short I have received 4 shipments. When I talked to the folks on the phone with the first order I received yes I called because the chat was not active. They said I needed to pay to ship it back because I ordered it 4 times. I explained that I did not that they had systems errors. I was placed on hold for a good 10 minutes and the lady said to put return to sender on the box with an RA number. I was of course hesitant but she was not the most pleasant person in the world. So I sent the package back as she instructed. We'll see if they get it.
So I got the other 2 boxes today and went to the online chat and spoke with a gentlemen who gave me the same line of crap. You ordered them you have to pay for the return shipping if you are returning them. I was very upset because I didn't want the shipments nor did I want to pay for the shipping back. He said I placed the orders and he could not override the policy of not paying for return shipping. I know very well it was a system error not a user error. Yes I may have been not so smart for continuing to place the order but their online ordering system has a lot to be desired. He also said pretty much that because I ordered online I knew what I was doing and I should have called in the order.
So I told them I would be writing about my experience on my blogs and that I am disappointed because it is a good product just horrible ordering system and horrible return policy. I can understand returning it and paying for the shipping if I had ordered it. I pay for return shipping with Victoria Secret stuff when I order the wrong size. But this was clearly a system problem.
What got me even more angry was that I said I was upset and won't be doing business with them again and his last sentences to me in the chat was "Is there anything else I can help you with today, Barbara?" and better yet when I said no, he said "Please feel free to contact us again at any time." As well as " Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions." NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, DON'T YOU GET IT.
So bottom line folks, it's a great ab workout and fun but order it through AMAZON a more trusted site and better system. I'll let you know whether I succeed with the DVD's. Yes, I thought of sending all of them back but I did like the workout and I didn't want to be out the shipping cost for 3 more packages plus the money I spent on the one that will never get back there with return to sender on the box.
Couple lessons learned from me. Have a great day and stay away from Beachbody.com ordering systems. Use the phone if you are interested in placing an order with them.
- Endless Pool Podcast
Tue, 24 Jan 2006 19:03:00 -0600
Well we did a podcast recently but KCT hasn't had time to post it out there yet. It was right after th 4 hour 24 kickstart (wasn't it awesome). Hopefully he will have time soon to get it out there or maybe we'll do another one real soon. Maybe he just has to teach me how to do the post production then watch out, I may do my own show.
We covered our trip to the Endless Pool facility in Aston PA. It was an awesome experience and I can't wait to get a pool. Of course as all our listeners know, I'm looking at the bottom line and the bottom line is pretty big. So I'm pricing out our options and I'll let you know what we end up doing. There's a great video of me swimming in it going nowhere. Please my form is just awful. That's the beauty of the pool, you swim and swim in the same place - no flip turns involved. What a great workout it will be. Take a look at Kevin's other site for the article and all his other cool tidbits.
- Who has IT?
Sun, 08 Jan 2006 18:56:00 -0600
No, IT is not Information Technology - it is "IT" - you know hot looks, electricity, sex appeal, and overall exudes that special something!
So who is your IT person? I'm watching the 101 Sexiest Bodies on E! The number one is of course my number 1 IT person - Angelina Jolie. She has beauty, sex appeal, mesmerizing eyes, and a kick butt body. She is truly one of the most gorgeous women I have seen. She is as the show calls her "the modern day Venus."
So who else makes my list? MatthewMcConaughey - wow now he has IT for sure and is my new number 1 male. Others on my list are Jon Bon Jovi and Tim McGraw (he dropped from #1 recently but the picture on this site may sway me back).
Tim started my IT list a long time ago with him in a white t-shirt, black hat, and jeans and wow he can spin on stage. What a great concert he puts on.
Just so ya'll know KCT agrees with both my #1's.
So who is on your list? Let me know.
- Check this out - 24 as a Book!
Sun, 08 Jan 2006 18:48:00 -0600
How did I miss seeing this?
I noticed today a series of books by Marc Cerasini centered around 24. They look interesting and aren't too expensive at $6.99 a piece. They are available from the publisher (which is where I found them) and of course Amazon. The newest one in the series is releasing end of January.
The stories are not the same as the show. The first one appears to give you a foundation of CTU and yes Jack is still Jack as one review said on Amazon.
I'll have to check it out and I'll let you know. This could be the best way to get us through the off season.
Remember next Sunday (1/14) Day 5 starts at 8:00 with a 2 night 4 hour premiere. The previews look amazing and if you don't have an HD TV this may be the best reason to get one. The show rocks in HD.
